HIMABSI Holds ELITE CAMP 2025 with the Theme “Morphemes”

The Student Association of English Language and Literature (HMJ BSI) successfully held ELITE CAMP 2025 on October 24–26, 2025, at Topejawa Beach, Takalar. The three-day event brought together 40 students from the 2024 and 2025 cohorts of the English Language and Literature Department. It served as a platform for them to learn, grow, and strengthen their bond as one academic community.

Carrying the theme “Morphemes,” the event invited participants to reflect on the meaning of unity. In linguistics, a morpheme is the smallest unit of meaning; similarly, each participant represented a meaningful unit with unique potential and character. When joined together, these individuals formed a collective identity full of creativity, harmony, and shared purpose.

Throughout the event, participants took part in a series of educational and engaging activities. They attended sessions on leadership, organization management, and self-development, as well as a presentation introducing the history, vision, and mission of HMJ Bahasa dan Sastra Inggris. Academic sessions on linguistics and literature allowed them to deepen their understanding of their field in a relaxed and interactive atmosphere.

ELITE CAMP 2025 adopted the English Area concept, where most activities were conducted in English. This approach encouraged students to communicate actively, improve their language proficiency, and gain confidence in using English in daily situations. One of the standout activities was the Vocabulary Submission, where participants searched for and shared English words displayed around the venue, making language learning fun and collaborative.

Beyond the learning sessions, the participants also enjoyed outbound activities and educational games that promoted teamwork, trust, and sportsmanship. The Mini Art Performance became a highlight of the event, featuring music, drama, and poetry performances that allowed students to express their creativity while building stronger connections with one another. The camp concluded with a Reflection and Evaluation session, where participants shared their experiences and insights gained over the three memorable days.

ELITE CAMP 2025 aimed to instill values of togetherness, responsibility, and integrity, while developing participants’ leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. It also encouraged the active use of English through real-life application, helping students grow both academically and personally.

With 40 enthusiastic participants in ELITE CAMP 2025 became more than just an organizational training, it was a celebration of learning, creativity, and unity. True to its theme, “Morphemes,” the event proved that each individual carries meaning on their own, but together, they can create something far greater: a cohesive and inspiring generation ready to contribute to the progress of HMJ and the English Language and Literature Department.
